Delete your Postel account

Postel is provided by GENFORGE (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED. You can delete your account in the app or request help without installing or opening it.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Postel and go to Settings.
  2. Select Delete account.
  3. Read the explanation and confirm deletion.

Request deletion outside the app

Email an account-deletion request

If this button does not open your email app, email admin@genforge.co with the subject Delete my Postel account. Include the registered email or phone number and username if known. This is a request, not an instant deletion; support will verify account ownership and explain completion. Do not send your OTP, authenticator code, password or private keys.

What deletion does

Account deletion revokes server access for your devices, removes account profile and discovery information and notification registrations, and releases your login identifiers and username for a new account. The initiating app clears its local stores after confirmed deletion. Other linked devices lose authorization, but previously downloaded data is not guaranteed to be remotely erased.

What may remain

Messages already received by other people, shared group/enterprise records, public verification history and a minimal deleted-account marker may remain. Relevant security, reporting and audit information may be retained for security, operational or legal purposes. Production logs normally expire after 30 days, and rolling database backups can remain for up to 35 days. Media expiry and cleanup are not instantaneous. See the privacy policy for details.

Enterprise membership

Removing an enterprise membership is different from deleting your whole Postel account. Contact the enterprise administrator for membership changes. Account deletion is not limited to clearing chats or uninstalling the app.
